If you read the::unwired on a regular base, you know that I love place-shift and my Slingboxes. And if you are located in the UK (I'm not yet sure if it's also shipped to other European countries) Expansys UK has someting special for you: the Slingbox Classic for £59.95/75 Euro only! The Slingbox Classic (see my previous review here) allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source from anywhere in the world on your laptop or mobile phone (mobile clients for Windows Mobile and Symbiand needs to be purchased separately). So now you can watch your DVR, DVB-T, digital cable, satellite receiver or DVD player wherever you see fit.

All you need at home is a DSL or cable modem connection with at least 256 Kbps upstream network speed (higher upstream speeds yield higher quality video and I'm recommending 512 Kbps or better, 1 Mbps upstream). On the go, you either need a LAN/WLAN and a Notebook or your smartphone with at least UMTS (while I recommend HSDPA). That's it; now you can watch all your TV programs on your mobile device at well; doesn't matter if it is on the balcony, in your home town or abroad.
